SmartMeters receive OIML approval for Europe

Chesterfield, UK – October 5th, 2006 – Severn Trent Services, the leading supplier of intelligent water metering is excited to announce the certification of its range of SmartMeter™ water meters to the European OIML R49 standard.
The SM150 and SM250 family of meters are both accredited for use in potable water applications in European Union countries and are the first residential meters to have successfully received accreditation to the R49 standard for cold water meters.
The SmartMeter SM150 N1.5m3 water meter was short listed in the Aquatech Innovate Award (Water Storage and Transportation Category). The Innovation Awards, which recognise sustainability, innovation and energy efficiency, were announced at Aquatech Amsterdam in September.
