Not all my meters can be installed on one 'plane'. How does SmartMeter handle this situation?
SmartMeter can be mounted on any plane without any effect on performance or accuracy. Virtually all mechanical meters can only be installed on one plane and if mounted differently, the performance is adversely affected.
It has been indicated that SmartMeter will only operate in temperatures < 30 degree C.
All SmartMeters have the capability of operating in an ambient temperature of +85 degree C and a water temperature of +60 degree C. Each and every SmartMeter has undergone extensive temperature testing and approval by Independent Laboratories. In fact, SmartMeter units have undergone rigorous environmental testing within most of the Middle Eastern Countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
I understand that SmartMeter operates on a battery. Won't the life of the meter be affected by this?
The SmartMeter has an ultra low power consuming transducer and therefore, is able to function with continuous accuracy and reliable measurement for very long periods from a single battery. The SmartMeter transducer requires no extra power from the battery and is able to measure continuously, 24 hours a day, every day, throughout its long operational life. The battery does not need to be changed until the eleventh year of the meter's life. However, other meters such as 'Electromagnetic Flow Meters' use electrical coils to generate a magnetic field and as such, these designs are very power hungry and consume batteries rapidly.
